Senator urges US to “unleash Israel,” warns of military action over Iran deal

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has said the United States should “unleash Israel” and be prepared to use military force if Iran does not immediately sign a deal.

“We should unleash Israel, and we should use military force ourselves if they do not sign the deal right now. <...> If you told Hitler that people are suffering, he would not care,” Graham said in an interview with Fox News.

The senator noted that those in power in Iran appear to prioritise their ideology and political plans over the hardships faced by the Iranian people. He described them as difficult counterparts, while stressing that this does not make agreement impossible. 

“It's not that you can't get a deal, but clearly what we're doing hasn't led to a deal yet,” he concluded.
