Senior Hamas official backs transfer of powers to Gaza committee

A senior Hamas official has called on Palestinian factions to support the transfer of governing responsibilities to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), following the decision to dissolve the committee previously responsible for overseeing the territory's administration.

Mahmoud Mardawi said Palestinian groups should back the handover of powers to the NCAG and urged increased pressure on Israel to allow the committee's representatives to enter the Gaza Strip to carry out their duties, according to Alaraby Television.

The NCAG, headed by Ali Shaat, was established in January as part of a proposed governance framework linked to U.S. President Donald Trump's plan for the future administration of Gaza.
