Serbia imposes temporary ban on oil exports
09 March 2026 14:47
The Serbian government has announced a temporary ban on the export of oil and petroleum products, effective until March 19, with the possibility of extension.
The move, according to the Ministry of Mining and Energy, is intended to shield the domestic market from price spikes caused by global supply disruptions, Caliber.Az reports.
Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović-Handanović said that the ban aims to prevent shortages and protect citizens, noting that Serbian consumers currently purchase petroleum products at prices lower than their stock exchange value.
She added that the authorities are taking all possible measures to safeguard both consumers and the wider economy.
