Serbia rules out sanctions on Russia Minister confirms
Serbia will not impose sanctions on Russia under any circumstances, according to the country’s Minister for International Economic Cooperation, Nenad Popović.
In remarks to the Russian media, Popović said that Serbia remains the only European country refusing to adopt anti-Russian measures, despite facing regular external pressure and threats.
He stressed that Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian government have no intention of changing course.
“The policy of President Vučić and the Government of the Republic of Serbia is clear — we will never introduce sanctions against our brotherly Russia. This is in the interest of both the Serbian and Russian peoples,” Popović said.
He added that a bilateral agreement between the two presidents has enabled Serbia to secure the lowest gas prices in Europe, alongside stable and reliable energy supplies.
According to the minister, amid significant shifts in the global energy market, such arrangements provide Serbia with long-term security and confidence in the future.
