Severe turbulence hits Etihad Airways plane, but it lands safely

Etihad Airways flight EY416, en route from Abu Dhabi to Phuket, has encountered severe turbulence while preparing to land at Phuket International Airport in Thailand, initially raising concerns that several passengers had been injured.

The plane, with 160 passengers on board, landed at 11:51 a.m. local time, prompting airport authorities to place emergency and medical teams on standby to provide assistance, Caliber.Az reports per Thai media.

However, at around 12:00 p.m., Monchai Tanode, Director of Phuket International Airport, confirmed that the aircraft had landed safely and that no passengers required hospital treatment.

All passengers were subsequently cleared to continue their journey to their accommodations.
