Severe weather disaster kills at least 13 in Philippines

At least 13 people have been killed, 14 injured, and nine remain missing in the Philippines following the impact of a strong southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones in parts of the country, according to the Office of Civil.

The disaster has affected more than 1.3 million people across 10 regions of the country. The military, police, and fire services have been deployed to conduct search-and-rescue operations, Caliber.Az reports, citing Manila Bulletin.

More than 58,000 people are currently staying in evacuation centres, while around 40,000 others are receiving assistance outside temporary shelters. Recovery and relief efforts are ongoing.
