Shipyard fire in eastern China injures 12

A fire at a shipyard in eastern China’s Fujian Province injured 12 people on August 13, according to state broadcaster China Central Television.

The blaze broke out at Century Huahai (Fujian) Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. in Gantang village, within Fuan City.

Firefighters responded quickly and brought the fire under control, while emergency crews and medical personnel were dispatched to the site to assist those injured.

Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the fire or the extent of the injuries.
