Six people die in fires across Belarus
Six people died in fires within 24 hours across Belarus, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told BELTA.
On February 3, at 6:29 a.m., a report was received about a fire in an apartment on the fifth floor of a nine-story residential building in Grodno on Fomicheva Street. As a result of the fire, a female resident born in 1943, a pensioner, was found dead.
Firefighters rescued a female resident born in 1991 from an apartment on the seventh floor. The causes of the fire and the death are being investigated.
Shortly after, at 7:38 a.m., a report was received about a fire in a residential building in the agrotown of Belousha, Brest Region, on Lenin Street. The deceased, the husband of the homeowner, born in 1986, was found. The causes of the fire and the death are being investigated.
At 10:30 a.m., a report was received that a woman born in 1937 had died in a healthcare facility from burns she sustained on January 17 when her clothing caught fire while tending a stove in a residential house in the village of Luchezarnoye, Vitebsk Region. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
At 12:21 p.m., a report was received about a fire in a residential building in the agrotown of Dyakovichi, Gomel Region. The deceased, the brother of the homeowner, born in 1958 and a pensioner, was found. The causes of the fire and the death are being investigated.
At 8:38 p.m., a report was received about a fire in a residential building in the agrotown of Tekhtin, Mogilev Region. The deceased, the homeowner, born in 1965 and a pensioner, was found. The homeowner’s son, born in 1992, was rescued thanks to the activation of a standalone fire alarm. The causes of the fire and the death are being investigated.
On February 4, at 2:29 a.m., a report was received about a fire in a residential building in the village of Derevnaya, Brest Region. The deceased, the homeowner, born in 1969, was found. The causes of the fire and the death are being investigated.
