Slovak president: Azerbaijan visit opportunity to turn trust into closer cooperation
On July 13, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said he was travelling to Azerbaijan to deepen cooperation in energy, trade and investment, describing the visit as an opportunity to build on the strong ties between the two countries.
"On my way to Azerbaijan. Our two countries have built strong relations. This visit is an opportunity to turn that trust into closer cooperation in energy, trade, and investment," Pellegrini wrote on X ahead of his arrival.
He said he looked forward to meeting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and other senior Azerbaijani officials "to advance our partnership and create new opportunities for Slovakia."
Pellegrini is visiting Azerbaijan on an official trip at the invitation of President Aliyev. The visit is expected to focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in energy, trade, transport and technology, as well as the participation of Slovak companies in reconstruction projects in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
A Slovak-Azerbaijani Business Forum is also scheduled to take place in Baku during the visit.
