Slovak prosecutor general, wife receive bomb threat as police investigate

Slovak Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka and his wife have received a bomb threat, prompting police to launch an investigation, authorities said.

An unidentified person threatened Žilinka and his wife with a bomb attack, Zuzana Drobová, a spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, told Aktuality.sk.

Police confirmed that they had received a threatening message addressed to Žilinka, describing him as a public official.

“Police officers are carrying out the necessary actions in connection with verifying this information,” Bratislava police spokeswoman Martina Šemetková said, adding that further details would be released when circumstances allowed.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico also received a threatening message on the same day, according to the Government Office. Police are investigating that incident as well.
