Son of senior Norwegian envoys dies by suicide in Oslo amid Epstein ties
Edward Juul Rød-Larsen, the son of two senior Norwegian diplomats under investigation over alleged links to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, has died by suicide in Oslo.
The incident occurred amid mounting scrutiny of his parents, Mona Juul and Terje Rød-Larsen, following revelations of their alleged connections to Epstein, Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang reports.
According to the report, the couple had taken their son to Epstein’s private island when he was 10 years old. The financier later bequeathed $5 million to Edward, raising further questions about the family’s relationship with him.
The investigation into Juul and Rød-Larsen was reportedly launched after Norway’s Ministry of Justice examined their past interactions with Epstein. In a statement issued through their lawyers, the couple said that their son’s financial ties to Epstein were among the factors that contributed to his death.
Authorities have not released further details.
