South Korea, Croatia deepen defence, energy cooperation
South Korea and Croatia discussed expanding cooperation in the defence and energy sectors during talks in Seoul on Monday (May 25), as the two countries moved to deepen ties across a range of strategic industries, according to Seoul’s foreign ministry.
South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun met Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman in the first visit to South Korea by Croatia’s top diplomat in eight years, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Cho welcomed the visit and called for strengthening “future-oriented cooperation” in sectors including the arms industry and batteries, the ministry said.
Radman said practical cooperation between the two countries was expanding, citing recently signed memorandums of understanding on defence, the economy, science and technology.
The ministers also agreed to pursue a memorandum of understanding on public safety aimed at creating a framework for safer travel between the two countries, the ministry said.
They further agreed to speed up discussions on a working holiday programme and continue educational and research exchanges between their foreign ministries.
