South Korea unveils plan for nuclear-powered attack submarines VIDEO

South Korea has presented its first official plan to develop nuclear-powered attack submarines, with the launch of the first vessel scheduled for the mid-2030s, Clash Report informs.

According to the report, the submarines will be built entirely domestically using low-enriched uranium reactors. The project is expected to rely on the capabilities of South Korea’s national shipbuilding industry and civilian nuclear sector.

The report also noted that the decision followed approval from the United States, which was granted by President Donald Trump in October 2025.
