South Korean military helicopter crashes during training

Two South Korean soldiers were rushed to hospitals in a state of cardiac arrest following a military helicopter crash in Gapyeong County, about 55 kilometres northeast of Seoul, officials said.

The AH-1S Cobra helicopter, operated by the Army's 15th Aviation Group, went down at 11:04 a.m. local time after taking off for routine flight training at 9:45 a.m. Both warrant officers on board were left in critical condition, Caliber.Az reports via Yonhap. 

The soldiers were transported to hospitals in Pocheon and Namyangju, northern cities near the crash site. Authorities confirmed there was no fire or explosion associated with the incident.

Military officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
