Spain confirms transfer of Hawk air defence system to Ukraine
Spain has confirmed that it will transfer six more launchers for Hawk anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.
Madrid is also preparing new supplies of artillery shells, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of the Spanish Defence Ministry.
Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles explained that six anti-aircraft guns would be integrated into the American battery. In November, Ukrainian operators and technical personnel of the Hawk air defence system will be trained in Spain.
Robles also announced new supplies of 155 and 105 mm artillery ammunition. Ukraine will also receive heavy machine guns from Spain to counter drones.
According to the minister, field rations are already on their way to Ukraine. Spain is preparing to send power generators and diving compressors, as well as winter equipment for the military.
In addition, training of Ukrainian defenders will continue in the Spanish city of Toledo and other cities. Previously, Spain conducted training for 2,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, this number is planned to increase to 4,000.
