Spain doubles Russian gas imports

Spain purchased 4,505 GWh of gas from Russia in August, which is 102.2 per cent more than in the same period of 2021 (2,228 GWh).

Last month, Russia accounted for 11.8 per cent of Spain's fuel imports and this fact placed Russia in fifth place in terms of imports after the United States, Algeria, Nigeria and France, TASS reports citing data from the Spanish energy company Enagas.

In total, Spain purchased 32,770 GWh from Russia in eight months, 22.88 per cent more than the previous year.
