Spain extends support to Ukraine with enhanced military training deal
Spain and Ukraine have agreed to extend their cooperation in the training of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel.
The Spanish Defence Ministry stated on X that the agreement was signed in Madrid by Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles and Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov, Caliber.Az reports.

"Robles welcomes her Ukrainian counterpart to the Ministry of Defence headquarters. Both parties have signed an agreement to ensure that Spain continues its support in training and educating Ukrainian servicemen," statement reads.
To recap, since the onset of war, Spain has demonstrated steadfast support for Ukraine, committing an unprecedented €100 million in humanitarian aid between February 2022 and the end of 2024. Additionally, Spain has pledged a further €10 million to bolster humanitarian efforts.
Beyond humanitarian assistance, Spain has provided €400 million in financial support for Ukraine's reconstruction. The nation has also contributed significantly to Ukraine’s defence capabilities, supplying military equipment and training nearly 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers through the EUAM mission.
