Spain may send Leopard tanks to Ukraine before Easter
Spain may transfer the first six Leopard tanks to Ukraine "immediately after Easter", celebrated by Catholics on April 9.
El Pais newspaper informed, citing a source in the Spanish government, that the exact timing of the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian side has not yet been announced.
On March 23, the Spanish Ministry of Defence was informed that six previously promised Leopard battle tanks would be delivered to Ukraine at the end of this week.
“Spain will send six Leopard A4 tanks to Ukraine immediately after Easter,” the newspaper refers to officials.
Previously, six tanks have been repaired and will be involved in firing exercises at a firing range in southern Spain this week.
After the combat certification is received, they will be transported by sea to Poland. From there, military equipment will be delivered to Kyiv.
