Spanish authorities detain 12 suspects in child pornography distribution case
The Spanish Civil Guard, in collaboration with the National Police, has apprehended 12 individuals suspected of involvement in the distribution of child pornography and corruption of minors, as reported by the Kingdom's Interior Ministry.
The joint operation, which led to the arrests, aimed at curbing the dissemination of explicit material involving minors, KP.RU reports.
In a statement released by the Interior Ministry, it was stated, "As part of a joint operation, Civil Guard and National Police agents detained a total of 12 people for possible offences related to the possession and distribution of child pornography and corruption of minors."
Among the detained individuals, authorities confirmed the apprehension of a 14-year-old teenager, who allegedly controlled the primary computer and a mobile phone used for the distribution of illicit images.
Furthermore, the Interior Ministry disclosed that investigations are ongoing, with an additional 44 individuals currently under scrutiny for their potential involvement in similar illegal activities.
This recent operation follows closely on the heels of another significant law enforcement action where Spanish police dismantled a criminal syndicate implicated in the trafficking of women for sexual exploitation purposes. The authorities elucidated that the suspects faced charges including human trafficking for sexual exploitation, forced prostitution, participation in a criminal organization, and illegal possession of weapons.
