Spiegel: Iran strikes bases in Jordan and Iraq hosting German troops

In response to U.S. and Israeli strikes, Iran targeted, among other locations, bases in Jordan and Iraq where German Bundeswehr forces are stationed, Der Spiegel reports, citing sources.

According to the report, Iranian missiles and drones were launched at a base near Erbil Airport in northern Iraq and at a Bundeswehr field camp in eastern Jordan. The publication notes that all missiles and drones were intercepted by air defense systems, but one American soldier was injured by falling debris.

Even before the strikes on Iran, the Bundeswehr had reduced its presence in Iraq to an “absolute minimum.” It is noted that troop numbers in Jordan will also be reduced when the situation allows.
