St Petersburg to host informal meeting of CIS heads of states

An informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries will be held in St Petersburg on October 7.

The Russian presidential press secretary, Dmitriy Peskov, told reporters that the CIS leaders would congratulate Russian President Vladimir Putin on his birthday anniversary, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.

"As a rule, the protocol never specifies this (congratulations - ed.). And often gifts are usually transmitted through protocols, but, of course, after all, everyone has known each other for years or even decades, they are familiar with each other, so they will probably congratulate each other on their birthday in a purely human way," Peskov said.

He noted that the Russian president will have a busy working day on October 7.
