Armenia, US strengthen security, regional cooperation

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Joshua Huck, has held a meeting with Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan in Yerevan to discuss bilateral cooperation.

Secretary Grigoryan underscored the significance of the growing and multifaceted relationship between Armenia and the United States. He noted that sustained cooperation between the two nations contributes meaningfully to regional stability and mutual strategic interests, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Deputy Assistant Secretary Huck reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties. He emphasized the United States’ readiness to continue supporting Armenia’s security, and regional integration efforts.

The sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on the Armenia–US bilateral agenda, with a particular focus on strengthening the strategic partnership. Grigoryan stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in collaborative initiatives aimed at fostering long-term cooperation across political, economic, and security domains.

Regional security was a central topic of the meeting. Secretary Grigoryan briefed the US delegation on the latest developments in the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He reiterated Armenia’s commitment to peace and emphasized the critical need to finalize and sign a comprehensive peace treaty, viewing it as an essential step toward lasting stability in the South Caucasus.

The meeting highlighted continued diplomatic engagement between Armenia and the United States, reflecting shared priorities in promoting peace, regional security.

As part of his visit to Yerevan, Huck also met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
