“For the first time, two AGM-65 (Maverick) missiles were launched simultaneously at designated targets at the Karapınar range by our 181st Fleet Command. The targets were hit with full precision and synchronisation,” the ministry said.
The AGM-65 Maverick is a tactical, air-to-surface guided missile used primarily for close air support and the suppression or destruction of ground targets. It is equipped with a digital laser-guided seeker, advanced flight algorithms, and an improved targeting system.
The missile has a range exceeding 20 kilometres, a top speed of 1,150 km/h, and comes with either a 50 kg or 136 kg warhead, depending on the variant.
