Ukrainian drone attack injures Russian troops in Belgorod
Two soldiers from Russia’s Orlan unit were injured following the detonation of a Ukrainian FPV drone in the Belgorod region. The incident occurred in the town of Grayvoron, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
The servicemen sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to the head. They were initially treated at Grayvoron Central District Hospital and are set to be transferred to City Hospital No. 2 in Belgorod for further care.
Earlier this month, on January 4, an Orlan unit soldier was killed during a missile strike on Grayvoron. In response to the ongoing threat from drones, regional authorities recently announced recruitment drives for the “Orlan” and “BARS” units to bolster local counter-drone capabilities.
Amid the conflict in Ukraine, the Belgorod region remains under a federal-level state of emergency and a counter-terrorism (CTO) regime.
