Over 3,400 Georgians deported from EU in 2025, ministry reports
Some 3,438 Georgian citizens were deported from European Union countries in 2025, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced.
Of those returned, 2,042 were men, 521 women, and 871 minors, the ministry said. The highest numbers of deportations came from Germany (1,818), France (543), and Ireland (327).
The Ministry further reported that 15 deportees were refused entry back into Georgia under the readmission agreement. These individuals were scheduled for deportation from Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, and France.
Since March 2017, Georgian citizens have been permitted visa-free short-term travel to Schengen Area countries, allowing stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period for purposes of tourism, business, or family visits.
