Putin envoy says no progress possible with EU’s Kaja Kallas
Kirill Dmitriev, the special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, reacted sharply to comments by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas about the European Union’s refusal to renew talks with Moscow.
Dmitriev published his response on the social media platform X, criticising Kallas’s position in strong terms, as per Caliber.Az.
“Any normal organisation would’ve fired Kaja over this speech alone. She’s undermining Trump’s peace process and the peacemakers’ hard work — while idiotically attacking the successful Abu Dhabi meeting.
Zero solutions. Just sabotage.
No progress can be made with hateful Kaja,” he wrote.
His remarks followed a statement made by Kallas on January 29, in which she said there were no grounds for resuming dialogue between the EU and Russia. She also argued that European countries had nothing to offer beyond what Moscow had already achieved through its engagement with the United States.
