ASTRA: Russian bomber drops fifth air bomb on Belgorod in 2026
On January 25, a Russian bomber dropped a FAB air bomb on the Belgorod region, marking the fifth air bomb of 2026, according to the Telegram channel ASTRA.
The incident occurred in the Shebekinsky settlement, damaging the fence of a residential home. No casualties were reported.
According to the channel’s sources, this is at least the fifth air bomb dropped by Russian aircraft on Russian territory in 2026.
For comparison, at least 143 bombs were dropped on Russian and occupied territories in 2025, and at least 165 in 2024.
ASTRA notes that the Russian military has begun equipping Soviet-era FAB bombs with UMPC kits featuring wings and satellite guidance, enabling them to be launched from Russian territory.
However, due to system imperfections, the bombs do not always hit their targets and sometimes fall on Russian soil.
