Iran’s Supreme Leader warns US attack to trigger regional war
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that any US military aggression against the country would not remain a bilateral conflict but would escalate into a full-scale regional war.
“The Americans must know that if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war,” he noted, Caliber.Az reports.
Khamenei added that the Iranian people should not fear US President Donald Trump’s statements about deploying large amounts of weaponry to the Middle East.
“We do not start wars and do not wish to attack any country, but the people of Iran will strongly resist anyone who attacks and causes harm,” the Iranian leader emphasised.
US President Donald Trump recently announced that a “massive armada,” led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and reportedly larger than the fleet deployed to Venezuela, is heading toward Iran.
In response, Iran warned that even a single shot from the United States would trigger a massive retaliatory response.
