Wagons carrying liquefied gas derail in Kazakhstan VIDEO
On January 31, an accident occurred on a private siding of Bars Build in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan.
A group of five liquefied gas tankers spontaneously left the connecting track, causing two wagons to derail after colliding with a safety buffer, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
According to Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ), no injuries were reported, and no cargo leaks were detected. Emergency services are on site, and an operational headquarters has been established.
The Taldykorgan–Karabulak line was temporarily closed overnight on February 1, delaying train No. 3604. Authorities in the Zhetysu region said recovery operations began in the morning and are expected to be completed by 18:00, including safe gas release.
The company emphasised that the incident occurred on private tracks outside the jurisdiction of JSC NC KTZ. A special commission is investigating the cause of the accident.
