Khamenei's adviser: Iran prepared for broader, high-tech confrontations
Senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Shamkhani, has warned that any conflict in the Middle East would carry far-reaching regional consequences, stressing that Tehran is prepared for broader and technologically advanced forms of confrontation.
Speaking in an interview with the Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen, as reported by Caliber.Az, Shamkhani said past wars in the region demonstrate that conflicts “rarely remain local.”
“Any spark can quickly turn into a comprehensive fire that spirals out of the control of those who initially planned it,” he noted.
Shamkhani emphasised that Iran’s current top priority is “full readiness to respond to any threat,” adding that Tehran has a deeper understanding of the region’s geography, as well as its own defensive capabilities and potential, than any external power.
He also cautioned countries hostile to Iran against pushing toward escalation.
“Any action reflecting hostile intentions [against Iran] will be met with a proportionate, effective, and deterrent response,” Shamkhani said, underscoring that Iran does not confine the scope of a possible confrontation solely to maritime areas and has “already prepared for broader and more technologically advanced scenarios.”
