State Committee: Azerbaijan training religious personnel committed to statehood ideas
Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli has said that Azerbaijan has a single ideology and political course, opposed to harmful religious movements, as well as the forces that seek to spread division, enmity, and religious radicalism through religion.
“Azerbaijan is one of the exemplary countries where multiculturalism and tolerance prevail, where representatives of various peoples, religious confessions live in conditions of equality and mutual respect, in accordance with the traditions of coexistence,” Gurbanli said, Report informs.
“The ideology of Azerbaijani people and the policy being pursued by Azerbaijan, based on national and spiritual values, hamper any harmful religious and political thought to take root in society today. Our country trains national, patriotic, religious personnel committed to the ideas of statehood. The establishment of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology upon the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is a very big historical event. In the future, religious figures with higher education who have received education at this institute will become a force capable of preventing steps which are taken in our country to form a model of state-religious relations in any foreign country,” he added.
