State Dept: US-Azerbaijan-Armenia meeting emphasizes importance of peace in regional ties
Spokesperson for the United States Department of State Matthew Miller made a statement regarding the results of the trilateral meeting involving the foreign ministers of the United States, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
Miller said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his satisfaction with the meeting involving the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Caliber.Az reports.
"Secretary Blinken discussed the progress made toward a durable and dignified peace agreement and encouraged further steps to finalize a deal as soon as possible. The Secretary also emphasized the importance of peace in promoting regional connectivity, which would benefit the entire South Caucasus region," Miller stated.
On July 10 in Washington, on the margins of the summit celebrating NATO's 75th anniversary, a meeting took place between Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan, initiated and attended by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The participants acknowledged the progress made towards finalizing a historic peace treaty and establishing interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. They agreed to continue their efforts in this direction.
