State Security Service searches home of Azerbaijani Popular Front Party leader
The State Security Service has searched the home of Ali Karimli, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party.
According to Caliber.Az, citing information obtained by Report, the search of his apartment was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation.
The investigation involving Ali Karimli is being conducted within the framework of a criminal case related to the former head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev.
On October 14, the Sabayil District Court in Baku made a ruling in the criminal case against Ramiz Mehdiyev.
The court, having considered the petition regarding Ramiz Mehdiyev—who is accused of particularly serious crimes—approved a preventive measure of house arrest for a period of four months.
He is charged under Article 278.1 (acts aimed at seizing state power), Article 274 (treason against the state), and Article 193-1.3.2 (legalisation of property obtained through criminal means) of the Criminal Code.
