Storm Shadow maker MBDA to help Ukraine develop new cruise missile
European missile manufacturer MBDA, producer of Storm Shadow cruise missiles, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine’s Luch Design Bureau to develop a new cruise missile project called NEPTUNE2.
The memorandum of understanding between MBDA and Luch provides for joint work on innovative long-range strike solutions under the NEPTUNE2 program, which is a further development of Ukraine’s existing Neptune cruise missile.
“This further collaboration with a Ukrainian company in the field of deep strike underlines MBDA’s contribution to supporting Ukraine,” the company said in a statement.
MBDA is a leading European developer of advanced missile systems and the manufacturer of Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which are already in use by Ukraine. The company says it has the technology, expertise, and international partnerships required to develop modern strike systems.
The Luch Design Bureau is a Ukrainian defence enterprise specialising in the design, development, and production of advanced weapons systems and is the original developer of the Neptune missile.
