Iranian official threatens to turn Hormuz into “graveyard” of US forces
Mohsen Rezaee, a former IRGC commander and secretary of Tehran’s Expediency Council, has compared US forces operating in the Strait of Hormuz to “pirates” and warned that the waterway could become “a graveyard” for American aircraft carriers and troops.
“The U.S. is the only pirate in the world that possesses aircraft carriers. Our ability to confront pirates is no less than our ability to sink warships,” he said in a statement on X.
“Prepare to face a graveyard of your carriers and forces, just as the wreckage of your aircraft was left behind in Isfahan,” he added, referring to last month’s downing of an F-15E plane.
