Strikes across Ukraine’s north, south leave one dead, one injured
A series of attacks in southern and northern Ukraine have resulted in civilian casualties and widespread damage, regional officials reported.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian strike killed a 77-year-old woman in the settlement of Kamyshuvakha. The head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, said the attack involved guided aerial bombs that struck a residential area. Private homes were destroyed, while nearby buildings sustained damage from blast waves and shrapnel.
Further north, in the Chernihiv region, authorities also reported the aftermath of multiple strikes. According to regional military administration head Viacheslav Chaus, an 83-year-old woman was injured when a drone hit a residential neighborhood in the city of Semenivka. She has been hospitalized.
Chaus added that FPV drones targeted an agricultural enterprise in a village within the Semenivka community, damaging a combine harvester and several farm buildings. Overnight shelling involving “Grad” multiple-launch rocket systems struck Novhorod-Siverskyi, destroying a house in a private residential area and damaging neighboring properties. Additional strikes were reported in the town of Horodnia.
Photographs released by Chaus alongside his statement reportedly show the aftermath in an unnamed border village within the Novhorod-Siverskyi community.
