A “massive explosion” has rocked a warehouse on the Groundwell Industrial Estate in Swindon, prompting a major emergency response.
Police, fire, and ambulance crews were called to the scene shortly after 7:30 p.m. on September 24, Caliber.Az reports, citing Sky News.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the immediate area is being evacuated but stressed there is currently no need for nearby residents outside the estate to leave their homes.
Authorities have urged those living close to the site to remain indoors, keep windows closed, and avoid the industrial estate for their own safety.
At least ten fire engines and several specialist units, including an aerial ladder platform and water carriers, have been deployed, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service reported. Firefighters are working to bring the large warehouse blaze under control.
