Strong winds prompt yellow alert in Baku and across Azerbaijan
A yellow weather alert has been issued for Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and several regions of Azerbaijan due to windy conditions expected during the first half of January 6.
The alert covers Baku and Absheron Peninsula, Kalbajar, Lachin, Fuzuli, Imishli, Saatli, Sabirabad, Salyan, Beylagan, Aghjabadi, Goranboy, Naftalan, Barda, Tartar, Yevlakh, Aghdam, Dashkasan, Ganja, Goygol, Samukh, Shamkir, Mingachevir, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Lankaran, Masalli, Astara, Lerik, Yardimli, Neftchala, Hajigabul, Shaki, Zagatala, Gakh, Gobustan, Shabran, Khachmaz, Siyazan, Gusar, and Khizi, Caliber.Az reports, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
In these areas, a north-western wind with speeds ranging from 13.9 to 20.7 m/s is expected. The authorities are advising residents to take necessary precautions in response to the weather conditions.
