Sweden, US to cooperate in nuclear energy
Swedish Minister of Energy and Industry Ebba Bush and Jennifer Granholm, who heads the US Department of Energy, signed a memorandum of understanding, which envisages bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
According to the Swedish Government Chancellery, this document, inked in Washington, is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries with the aim of developing new nuclear energy and contributing to this area, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“Sweden and the US will now cooperate in the field of nuclear energy. This is good for Sweden. This is good for the US, for jobs and competitiveness,” Bush commented.
“I look forward to strengthening cooperation and exchanging knowledge in the field of nuclear energy.”
As per the document, the countries “will exchange experiences in issues related to policy, research and innovation, related, among other things, to supply chains, financing models, competent supply and the development of modern nuclear fuel.”
