Syria, China talk over expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors PHOTO

Syria and China have discussed strengthening bilateral ties across a range of sectors, according to a statement issued by the official account of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani met Chinese Ambassador Shi Hongwei in Damascus on Wednesday, May 20, where both sides reviewed prospects for expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, Caliber.Az reports.

The talks also covered recent regional and international developments, the ministry said, without providing further details.

Beijing has maintained diplomatic relations with Damascus throughout the conflict, while continuing to engage in reconstruction and economic cooperation frameworks.
