Syrian president set for US visit at Trump’s invitation
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is expected to visit the United States on June 14 at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, Syria TV reports, citing a source in the Syrian government.
The planned visit follows a telephone conversation between al-Sharaa and Trump, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, recent political developments, regional security issues, and ways to strengthen cooperation aimed at supporting stability in Syria and promoting the country’s economic development.
According to the report, the upcoming talks are expected to focus on economic assistance, the potential lifting of sanctions, and efforts to expand bilateral cooperation. Political developments and the security situation in Syria and the broader region are also expected to feature prominently on the agenda.
