Taiwan conducts missile exercise with Tien Kung III, Patriot systems
The Taiwanese Armed Forces recently conducted a significant military exercise utilizing both the domestically produced Tien Kung III (TK-3) and the US Patriot PAC-2 anti-aircraft missile systems.
The live-fire drills took place near the Jiupeng military base in southern Taiwan, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
During the exercise, two Patriot PAC-2 missiles and one TK-3 missile successfully engaged and destroyed target drones. The successful interceptions demonstrate the operational readiness and effectiveness of these missile systems.
However, defence spokesman Sun Lifan did not confirm or deny whether the HF-2E cruise missile was part of the exercise's closed-door segment.
“Some of the missiles tested are classified, so we will not comment on the types of missiles used during the exercise,” Sun Lifan stated.
