Tajik special services kill three Jamaat Ansarullah militants

The Tajik special services have killed three members of the Jamaat Ansarullah international terrorist organisation, who entered the Tajik territory by violating the Tajik-Afghan border.

Three members of the international terrorist organisation illegally violated the Afghan-Tajik border in Kevron village of the Darvoz district on August 30 night. They planned to commit several terrorist acts on the Tajik territory, the Tajik State Committee for National Security said.

“The officers of the anti-terrorist security detachment surrounded the terrorists and demanded them to surrender on September 5 morning. The terrorists did not obey the orders of the security forces and opened fire. As a result of the hostilities, three members of the armed terrorist group were killed. Kalashnikov assault rifles, pistols, grenades and sniper rifles were found.

The members of the Jamaat Ansarullah organisation repeatedly tried to violate the Tajik-Afghan border over the past year. The State Committee for National Security reported on two members of the organisation who illegally crossed the border line at the Yazgulom field in the Vanj district on April 26. They were killed as a result of the anti-terrorist operation.
