"The suspect in the double murder at Chisinau international airport died 15 minutes ago," the Moldovan NewsMaker website reported on July 3 quoting the General Police Inspectorate.
The suspect was wounded in the incident and was taken to hospital in "very serious condition".
According to Moldova's acting Prosecutor-General Ion Munteanu, the 30 June shooting that killed two people and injured another will be investigated as a "terrorist act".
"While being escorted to the sterile area of the airport to be sent back, the man shot dead a border policeman and an airport security officer with a gun seized from a border police officer. Another person, a passenger, was injured and is receiving medical attention. Officers of the special-purpose unit Fulger detained the attacker," Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said on Facebook after the incident.
