Tajikistan has completed the demarcation and engineering development of its state border with Kyrgyzstan in the Sughd region, according to the regional administration.
Officials said border markers and the necessary infrastructure have been installed along a section of more than 300 kilometres in line with international standards, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
A ceremony marking the completion of the works was held in the Jabbor Rasulov district and attended by Sughd regional governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, Commander of the Border Troops of Tajikistan's State Committee for National Security Lieutenant General Murodali Rajabzoda and other officials.
Participants noted that the completion of the border works would be an important step toward strengthening peace, security, stability and good-neighbourly relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
