Tajikistan eyes digital leap with expanded SpaceX cooperation
Tajikistan and US aerospace company SpaceX are set to deepen cooperation in satellite internet services and digital technologies following the official launch of Starlink in the Central Asian country.
The announcement was made by the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to the agency, its specialists held an online meeting with representatives of SpaceX and Starlink to discuss key areas of collaboration and outline priorities for future joint initiatives.
During the talks, the Tajik side presented a draft roadmap for cooperation focused on expanding access to high-speed internet across the country. The proposal includes connecting healthcare and educational institutions to broadband services, enhancing the delivery of digital public services, and improving communications for government agencies operating in remote and underserved regions.
The discussions also covered prospective projects in emerging technologies, including the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, the development of digital mapping systems, and the creation of environmentally sustainable computing infrastructure.
The planned initiatives are aimed at strengthening Tajikistan's digital transformation efforts and expanding access to modern connectivity and technology-driven public services through cooperation with SpaceX and its Starlink satellite internet network.
