Tanker hit by drone while transiting Strait of Hormuz, UKMTO says

A tanker was struck by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) while sailing out of the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

UKMTO said it had received information from military authorities that the tanker was hit during its outbound transit of the strategic waterway, Caliber.Az reports.

The vessel sustained minor damage, while all crew members were reported safe and accounted for. No environmental impact was reported.

UKMTO advised vessels operating in the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
