Tech, finance giants join Trump on China trip, including Musk, Cook

US President Donald Trump will visit China on Wednesday, May 13, accompanied by a delegation of leading executives from major American technology and financial companies, a White House representative told the BBC.

According to the source, the 18-member business delegation will include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, as well as executives from BlackRock, Meta, Visa, JPMorgan, Boeing, Cargill, and several other major corporations. Also listed are leaders from Blackstone, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Mastercard, GE Aerospace, Illumina, and Coherent.

Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra is also expected to attend, despite previous Chinese restrictions on the company’s products. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose participation had been uncertain, was seen aboard Air Force One during a stopover in Alaska, with the company confirming his attendance at the president’s invitation.

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins will not join the delegation due to commitments related to earnings reporting.

The White House said the delegation reflects a broad range of US economic interests, spanning technology, semiconductors, finance, and industry.

The visit will be Trump’s first to China as sitting president in nearly a decade and is viewed as a key test of the fragile trade truce between the two countries.
