Teen severely injured in Ukraine after explosive device detonates

A boy in Rivne Oblast, Ukraine, was critically injured after an explosive device detonated in his hands, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported.

The incident occurred in the village of Kolodenko, where the teenager came across a suspicious object, reportedly a grenade detonator. While handling and inspecting the device, it unexpectedly exploded, causing severe trauma.

Emergency responders transported the boy to a local hospital, where he underwent treatment for traumatic amputation of several fingers on his hand.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise extreme caution when encountering unknown or suspicious objects, particularly in areas affected by leftover explosive ordnance.
