Teenager stabs school assistant to death in France
A 31-year-old teaching assistant has been fatally stabbed by a 15-year-old student this morning during a routine backpack inspection at the entrance of a school in Nogent.
The tragic incident occurred while school staff were conducting standard security procedures, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The victim succumbed to her stab wounds at the scene. French President Emmanuel Macron quickly reacted to the news, taking to X to denounce the event as a senseless wave of violence.
Alors qu’elle veillait sur nos enfants à Nogent, une assistante d’éducation a perdu la vie, victime d’un déferlement de violence insensé.

The suspect, identified as a 9th-grade student, was immediately apprehended by a school gendarme. The gendarme sustained a minor hand injury during the apprehension. The teenager is now in custody as authorities launch an investigation to determine the motive behind the fatal attack.
Recent months have seen other knife attacks in schools, notably the killing of a teacher last October during an incident at a school in the northern city of Arras. By the end of April, the Ministry of National Education reported the seizure of 94 bladed weapons from 958 random bag checks conducted in schools since March.
